About

Let's work together to get you back to wholeness.

Life is hard. It feels like the world is on fire right now- or maybe it's always felt like your world has been on fire. You just know you're sick and tired of being tired and sick, and looking to explore how to identify who you are, rediscover joy and presence, enrichen your relationships, and have the courage to live your own version of a life-well lived. Well, you've come to the right place- At the Delta Counseling is here to help. We are so happy you're here. --- This is what Ash has to say about her work: "I am passionate about providing compassionate individualized care to adults, their partners, families, and communities through a strengths-based, empowerment-focused approach to whole-self healing and wellness. I became interested in helping others heal and grow after my own personal experiences struggling with mental health challenges, as well as watching loved ones struggle with addiction, mental health, toxic family situations, and chronic health/pain issues. I've seen and experienced the healing power in being able to unpack your story and share what has shaped you. I know what it is like to work with a professional who partners with you to create your unique, authentic path towards healing, and want to be able to offer the very same to those I work with. As a client, you an expect to be honored with respect, empathy, and enthusiastic support as we come to a better understanding of what shaped you into the person you are today- and the potentials you hold inside of you. Knowing what a brave thing it is to reach out for help, I strive to build an attuned connection with my clients, with the intention of making that individual feel care for, nurtured, and celebrated during our time together. Together, we will explore your self-limiting beliefs and patterns of self-sabotaging behaviors (e.g. addictions, toxic relationships, disordered relationships with food/money/intimacy, etc). We will identify what needs to be released in order for you to grow. We were learn more about who you truly are, your purpose, your values, and the life you want to lead, all while developing a plan to help you continue cultivating this life outside of our time together. My ultimate goal is for you to re-discover a sense of excitement, hope, and curiosity about your future!" --- Ash (she/her pronouns) earned both her BA in Psychology and Communication Studies (specializing in Interpersonal Relationships) and her Master's of Social Work from the University of Denver. She has worked in various clinical settings, ranging from a drop-in center for LGBTIQ+ youth, child welfare, and a nationally renowned treatment center serving those struggling with mental health and substance use concerns. Most recently, Ash has pivoted to working for a mental health tech start-up, focused on assisting fellow therapists become even better therapists, and has also focused on further her education by becoming a Certified Financial Social Worker, which focuses on the intersection of behavior and personal finance. Previous to Ash's transition to working in mental health, she worked extensively in the nonprofit, advocacy, research, and animal welfare sectors. Ash has received extensive training in working with those with complex needs, including those living with experiences that limit their quality of life as a result of the impact of trauma, addiction, and mental health concerns. Her clinical approach could be described as eclectic, as she feels it is important to use an approach that fits the unique needs of the client. Her clinical orientation is values-oriented, attachment theory and neurobiology-informed, and empowerment-focused, using interventions from motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance-and-commitment therapy, somatic work, parts work, and more. Ash works from a queer-friendly, trans-affirming, sex-positive, anti-ableist, anti-racist framework, and is committed to her ongoing work around her own power and privilege as a cisgender white woman. Ash identifies within the LGBTQIA+ communities and lives with a few chronic health conditions that have shaped her experience in the world. She welcomes these conversations in the therapy space, feeling that those with marginalized identities deserve an accessible place to receive support. Before all else, Ash identifies as a storm chaser, and can often be found in various remote locales in the heart of the US during the storm season alongside her canine co-pilot, Lilah. She also is an enthusiastic cat mom of 3, a practicing eco-minimalist, and an uber-nerd with a voracious appetite for Star Wars, select video game series, psychology/personal finance books/podcasts, and indoor houseplants. Ash is passionate about cataloging her adventures via photography and other forms of content creation, with a focus on capturing both grand and simple moments.
